Set up an Integrated Marketing Plan to Generate Traffic

Are you really getting the website traffic you need to convert visitors into sales?

As a web design specialist and internet marketing consultant, I have helped folks with all kinds of projects ranging from web design and internet marketing services to supporting existing websites for basic updates or revisions. All too often I see lots of people setting up a website with information without a purpose or designing a website for visitors to read and navigate but not designed for search engines to find them.

These are all major mistakes in my book, and are costing you more than you know.

So I wanted to provide you with friendly advice that won’t cost you anything.
Your website should be working for you, capturing leads and converting leads into sales.   So here are a few helpful tips to create a better flow that will get your website generating leads and traffic to your business.

Consider These Steps:

    • Hold Their Hand – Ask yourself, what do you want visitors to see and what do you want them to do when they come to your website? There should be some sort of action to guide them to do something when they get there.

    • Set Up a Newsletter – brainstorm on a call to action then set up a newsletter to get visitors to join (free stuff pertaining to your industry usually does the trick)?

    • The Power of Suggestion – Do some cross promoting on each page, this works great! On all your web pages add a link and suggest for visitors to check out other pages that have similar topics within your web site. Then make sure each page can link back to a form or a page that captures their information, or even add a contact form on each page.

    • Referral Traffic – By adding links where visitors can tell a friend or share the information on their social media pages will increase traffic by way of referrals and will help boost SEO, so add like and follow me buttons to your website.

    • Landing Pages – This is a way to capture leads with an opt-in process, all your press releases and things similar to this, social media sites, business directories and such,  should point visitors to this landing page to download a free copy of something upon submission, then redirected them to your main website.

    • Create Content with a Purposes – Remember the ABC’s in sales, “always be closing”?  This is true for your webpage content. What are you saying to get them interested about the content,  or what are you saying to get them interested about the content in terms of being a partner, reseller or affiliate? Then direct them to a form or a number to call you?

In closing, you should also incorporate an integrated marketing plan in conjunction with these efforts.  An integrated marketing plan is an ongoing plan that ties together the artistic and scientific aspects of the web with strategy, and can last for up to 6 months to a year.

Here’s what a typical 12 month plan would include!

SEO Strategy Set Up To Include the Following:

  • Webmaster tools such as Bing, Google, and Alexa then plug them into yourGooglewebsite and site maps.
  • Keyword Analysis to find the top keywords for your industry.
  • Meta data, page descriptions, titles, image tags and keywords set up and customized on each page.
  • Game Plan for call to action options for visitors to reply to blog posts, press releases, and front page of website.

Internet Marketing Strategy:

    Online Marketing

  • Social Media Sites Set up and customized with brand – 2 each month
  • Business Directory Profiles set up and pointed to site – 2 per month
  • Press Release SEO Friendly – 2 per month
  • Press Release Submission to the web – 2 per month
  • Blog Posts – 2 per month

  • Backlinks created – This is an ongoing process through the 12 month plan. Backlinks are links that are directed towards your website. Also known as Inbound links (IBL’s). The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website. Backlinks are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query.
  • Link wheels created – This is an ongoing process through the 12 month plan. A Link Wheel is a network of websites (commonly used by Web 2.0 sites) and blogs connecting to each other, which will link them to your website and helps your site to rank up in Google’s front page.
  • Social media bookmarks – ongoing spread out over 12 months
  • Pay per click ads
  • Classified ads
  • Customer testimonials and feedback on all business listing profiles, social medias sites, etc…
